An Ontronic system from Switzerland is competitively priced and has nearly all of the same features as the higher end Electromotive. See www.ontronic.ch for details. |
notes on FI conversion on this Biturbo (photos soon)
Now the work begins...
Install Holley Pro 2BBL throttle body and two GM injectors in place of the Weber.
Install GM style throttle position sender if not already on throttle body.
Add an air temp sender to air box where it can 'see' the inlet air. Note plumbing for the
liquid intercoolers.
`
Connect a MAP sensor somewhere to manifold vacuum.
Install a rising rate fuel pressure regulator.
Upgrade to 60 psi fuel injection fuel pump and change all fuel lines to fuel injection hoses.
Install relay to operate the intercooler fluid pump (I have it set to operate above 50
degrees
celsius air temp)
if you have a liquid intercooler.
Put in O-2 sender in exhaust as near to junction as possible to get it hot. Since an expert
here in Denver,
Mark Mertz at Supercar Performance, fit two large catalytic convertors to this car, my O-2
sensor is on the
right side; it cannot read what cylinders 1,2 and 3 are doing. I left the MABC boost
controller working
because it is good insurance.
`
`
Install Haltech. Wires to MAP sender, O-2 sender, throttle sender, coolant temp sender (if the
stock Bosch
type is already there) , fuel pump relay, intercooler relay, injectors, power, distributor and
ground.
Tuning an Haltech is fairly intuitive. You need a laptop computer. Use datalogging and O-2
sender readings
to help set pulse widths. The dyno is the best/safest place to fine tune the higher throttle angles and higher
RPMs.
